On September 29, 2025, a meeting was held at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France) between Elena Yuryevna Savchenko, Rector of the Non-Commercial Educational Institution “International University of Kyrgyzstan” and Christine Nault-Leduc, President of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in education and science, student and faculty academic mobility, joint research projects, and the implementation of double degrees and international educational programs. Nault-Leduc and E.Yu. Savchenko agreed to intensify interaction between the universities and reached a mutual understanding of the collaboration importance, which opens up broad opportunities for academic and cultural exchange for students and faculty from both universities.
The meeting took place in a warm and trusting atmosphere. It concluded with a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement, within the framework of which the parties intend to cooperate in the above-mentioned priority areas. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Education Department, Asel Turatbekovna Ibraeva, and the Head of the International Department, Zhenishkul Fridonovna Moldokeeva, from the ARPC “IUK”, and by Rémi Basilier, Vice-President of the Board of Governors for International Relations, Annie Soriot, Director of International Relations, Antoine Devoucou du Buysson, Deputy Director for International Relations, François-Xavier Nerard, Professor Authorized to Direct Research, and Thomas Touzet, International Cooperation Officer, from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
It’s worth noting that Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, founded in the 13th century, combines the glorious legacy of classical French education with an innovative interdisciplinary approach. As France leading university in the humanities and social sciences, it enrolls approximately 45,000 students annually and is an active member of the Una Europa alliance, which brings together leading European universities.
The signing of the Memorandum marked an important step in strengthening the academic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and France.
