September 29, 2025 at the University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne (France) a meeting was held between the rector of the International University of Kyrgyzstan Savchenko Elena and the president of the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University Christine No-Leduc. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in education and science, academic mobility of students and faculty members, joint research projects, as well as the implementation of double degrees and international educational programs. Christine No-Leduc and Elena Savchenko agreed to intensify cooperation between the universities reached a mutual understanding on the importance of cooperation, which opens up broad opportunities for academic and cultural exchange for students and faculty of both universities.
The meeting was held in a warm and trusting atmosphere. It concluded with a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement, under which the parties intend to collaborate in the aforementioned priority areas. The director of the education department represented the “IUK” at the meeting Ibraeva Asel and Head of the International Department Moldokeeva Zhenishkul, and from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne Rémi Basilier, Vice-President of the Board of Governors for International Relations; Annie Soriot, Director of International Relations; Antoine Devuku du Buysson, Deputy Director for International Relations; François-Xavier Nérard, Professor in Charge of Research and Thomas Touzét, International Cooperation Officer.
Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University founded in the 13th century, combines the glorious legacy of classical French education with an innovative interdisciplinary approach. As France’s leading university in the humanities and social sciences, it welcomes approximately 45,000 students annually and is an active member of the Una Europa alliance, which unites leading European universities.
The signing of the MOU marked an important step in strengthening the academic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and France.
