On June 3, 2026, a meeting was held at the International University of Kyrgyzstan between Rector E. Yu. Savchenko and Mr. Nico Schermers, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was introductory in nature and focused on discussing prospects for developing cooperation between IUK and educational institutions of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The parties exchanged information about their activities and explored opportunities for academic cooperation and the implementation of joint educational projects.
As a result of the meeting, priority areas for further partnership development were identified, including the enhancement of academic and educational initiatives as well as the strengthening of international cooperation.
As part of his visit, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands delivered a guest lecture for undergraduate and PhD students on the topic: “Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands”. The lecture attracted significant interest from the audience, with students actively participating in the discussion, asking questions, and demonstrating strong engagement with the topic.
IUK expresses sincere gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Nico Schermers, for his visit, the insightful guest lecture, and his contribution to the development of international academic cooperation.
