From September 15 to 19, 2025, Zhainagul Ermekova, a second-year student majoring in Information Systems and Technologies at the International University of Kyrgyzstan, participated in the 2nd International Summer School on Applied Demography of the CIS Countries, held at the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformatics of the Belarusian State University (BSU).
The event was organized as part of the international technical assistance project “Strengthening the Scientific and Educational Potential of the Republic of Belarus in Collecting, Analyzing, and Using Demographic Data to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals,” implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus and BSU.
The school was attended by 21 students from leading universities in Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia. The school’s topics covered a wide range of issues related to demographic stability, the impact of socioeconomic development on demographic processes, methods for forecasting demographic changes, and the use of innovative geoinformation technologies in applied demography. Particular attention was paid to the role of the family and family policy in supporting the harmonious development of society.
The student expressed gratitude to the management of the ARPC “IUK” for their support and the opportunity to represent the university and the country at such a large-scale event.
